Gor Discovery Guide, in PDF !

Yesterday, I talked about the spirit of Gor, which is really the only way to approach and understand the specific meaning of “By the Books” as used by Gor SL players.

I also explained that the only way to truly claim to be By The Book is to have knowledge of the novels that inspire role-playing on Gor SL. Without that, it’s like claiming to know how to take apart and reassemble an engine without any prior knowledge of auto mechanics. Believe me, even with some basic and effective knowledge, it’s not easy!

But how can you acquire the necessary knowledge of the world of Gor without having to read all or part of 38 novels, which are not necessarily exciting, and are sometimes even painful to read, and most of which are unavailable in French or other languages?

Well, you’ll laugh, but that was the original reason for creating Gorean Archives: once again, few novels have been translated into French, and few people can read English. So, since I can read English, I started writing in French, then in English, not a thematic encyclopedia, but game and universe guides to understand the world of Gor easily and with less time and effort than reading all the novels. Although I do recommend reading a few, really.

So how do you get started? You’ll have to read a little, though. That’s why I’m offering a guide, a PDF document that brings together all the essential information you need to discover the world of Gor. For the moment, it’s in English, but I’ll be doing a French version soon. In 100 neatly laid-out pages, it offers a guided tour of Gor through its main subjects and themes.
